Radio fips ( Fi lstal- P ower s tation) is a free radio from Göppingen . It is supported by the Association for Free Radio Göppingen e. V., which is financed by membership fees, donations and sponsoring. The station's claim is And the radio is alive .

history

The association Free Radio Göppingen e. V. was founded in 1998. In May 2004 Radio fips was started as an internet radio and also fed into the networks of the two Alb Fils clinics as hospital radio . In 2011, 2012 and 2013 Radio fips could be received terrestrially as an event radio. In August 2014, Radio fips received a five-year license to use the 89.0 MHz terrestrial frequency from the State Office for Communication . This was put into operation on September 16, 2014 and Radio fips was simultaneously fed into the Göppingen cable network of KabelBW (today Unitymedia ) on the frequency 99.2 MHz. Since large parts of the Esslingen district are also connected to the Göppingen cable network, the transmitter can also be received there via cable.

program

The majority of the Radio fips program consists of music. Since the broadcaster does not follow the specifications of the format radio , the choice of music is diverse and ranges from Schlager to oldies to techno as well as current music from the charts . Information programs lasting one to several hours are also broadcast. The fipsmix broadcast outside of the booked program sections was still mostly broadcast with moderation around 2014, but this was dropped a few months later. With the discontinuation of moderation, the playlist was mainly switched to alternative music styles outside the mainstream.

From 2014 to 2017 Filstalwelle broadcast a program window on Radio fips Monday to Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. under the name Filstalwelle Feierabend . A music program in the Hot-AC radio format , event tips, as well as world and regional news, traffic service and weather was broadcast. This was the only broadcast on Radio Fips in which advertising was broadcast. At the beginning of 2017 the Filstalwelle closing time was stopped again.

Studios

The station has two studios in Göppingen and a regional studio in Geislingen an der Steige .
