Moneybrother is the stage name of the singer Anders Olof Wendin (born March 16, 1975 ) from Ludvika in Sweden . He is supported by his backing band Panthers . Wendin is signed to Burning Heart Records .

Career

Wendin was first the frontman of the band Superwed , later of Monster , a ska band that was also under contract with Burning Heart until they broke up in 2000. Thereupon, after brief detours into the theater and film scene in Stockholm, he decided to pursue a solo career under the name Moneybrother .

On March 29, 2003, the first LP Blood Panic was released, the first single Reconsider Me was positively received on Swedish radio , and became an alternative summer hit .

In February 2005 Moneybrother released the single They're Building Walls Around Us , followed in March 2005 by the album To Die Alone , which reached high chart positions in Sweden (# 1) and Germany (# 37). The second single, Blow Him Back Into My Arms , was released in June - but only in Sweden. The former MTV presenter Sarah Kuttner is an avowed fan of Moneybrother . Wendin was a guest on their show several times and was also seen at the Kuttner on Ice festival organized by Kuttner , at which Adam Green and Mando Diao also performed.

After 101 gigs in 2005, Moneybrother decided to take a longer break, which lasted until autumn 2006. During this time he was working on his new album Pengabrorsan (literal translation of the name Moneybrother into Swedish), which consists of songs by other artists that have now been recorded entirely in Swedish. The album was only released in Scandinavia. On its homepage Moneybrother apologizes to its pan-European fans and announced that it will record an English-language album again as soon as possible:

“Friends. I'm from Sweden you know. And I hope I don't upset you by doing this. But I decided to release an album in Swedish. It's a very good album filled with songs where you don't get the words. This album will only be released up north so I hope you forgive me for writing some info about this album in Swedish. I assure you that I will release an album in English as soon as possible. And hopefully then get the chance to see all of you again. "

After more than two years, Moneybrother released an English-language studio album called Mount Pleasure in 2007 . In Sweden it was released on August 22, 2007, in Germany it was released on August 31 by SONY-BMG Columbia. The first single was Just Another Summer . This album also includes the duet Magic Moments with Judith Holofernes .

Again two years later and in mid-April 2009 the album Real Control was released ; no longer with a major record label, but with the Swedish label Hacka Skivindustri. The first single was the track Born Under a Bad Sign .

In September 2012 Moneybrother released the album This Is Where Life Is , which was recorded in seven cities across the globe.
