The bianca Story is a Swiss band from Basel . Their style of music is often referred to as Art Pop . In addition to album releases and tours, she has also made a name for herself in the field of music theater and is known for her artistic productions relating to music. She has been under contract with Motor Music since 2011 .

history

In 2006 Fabian Chiquet and Elia Rediger founded the band The bianca Story in Basel . Since 2010 the group has also consisted of Anna Gosteli, Joël Fonsegrive and Lorenz Rutigliano and plays live with additional musicians (including Jonas Wolf, Victor Moser). After touring all over Europe, several albums and soundtracks for musical theater, they have been called the “most important band in Switzerland”.

In 2008 they released their first album Hi Society! on the German label Rodeostar Records and were mainly on the road in Eastern Europe.

Her Unique Copy Album was produced in 2009 as a 2 × 2 meter sculpture and sold to an art collector at an art auction for over 10,000 Swiss francs. The songs for this work have been released for download free of charge. This was the first time they turned the current distribution structures in the music industry upside down. The album as a sculpture brought the band a lot of media attention and the signing with the German label Motor Music and their manager Tim Renner .

The second album, Coming Home , was recorded at London's Abbey Road Studios and was released by Motor Music in January 2012. During his time at Abbey Road Studios, the Basel filmmaker Gregor Brändli shot the documentary High & Low . The singles Coming Home and the remix for Dancing People Are Never Wrong by Jan Blomqvist were played up and down on the radio and on the dance floors. In March 2012 the Deutsche Oper Berlin invited them to a guest performance of their music theater piece M & The Acid Monks , which they had written as a self-proclaimed desert pop piece together with director Daniel Pfluger.

In 2013 they started the crowdfunding project Are you buddy? , from which they collected 90,000 euros in order to be able to publish their latest studio album DIGGER free of charge. The symbol of this action was the digging of a tunnel through the mountains. This symbolically represented the liberation of music from the shackles of the music industry. And the breakthrough came: on November 11, 2013, they successfully completed their crowdfunding project after only 75 days with 91,662 euros. 630 fans supported the project. The amount was the highest crowdfunded amount for music in Europe at the time. The album released afterwards contained the singles Glück Macht Einsam and Neon Sand , a joint track with Dieter Meier from Yello . The song Does Mani Matter? is an allusion to the Swiss songwriter Mani Matter and the band's economic art projects.

In March 2014 they realized the world premiere of the Gilgamesh Must Die! Concert theater in cooperation with the director Daniel Pfluger as part of the DIGGER tour . at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. The piece could then also be seen in Switzerland. After numerous tours, in 2015 they started working on the music for Peter Pan with Michael Lippold at the Konzert Theater Bern . The premiere was on December 4th, 2015. The piece was a great success with audiences and reached 15,000 viewers in 20 shows.

The members are currently working on various solo projects and live in Berlin, Bern, Munich and Basel.
