Jan Blomqvist

Jan Blomqvist (* 1982 in Ahnsbeck ; bourgeois Jan Freter ) is a musician and music producer. In addition to the production of electronic music, he performs solo as a live artist as well as with a band. In his songs he combines electronic beats with analog synths, piano and bass and sings to them. He is represented in the booking by Four Artists .

Musical career

Blomqvist began his musical career on the guitar, with which he still develops his songs today. As a teenager he was a member of a punk band, but was fascinated by electronic music from an early age. After graduating from high school, he moved to Berlin at the age of 19, where he first began to study aerospace engineering and then mathematics. He broke off his studies in favor of a music career. From 2003 he concentrated only on electronic music. The first appearance took place in 2008 in the Berlin club Tresor .

In 2011 the first single, Big Jet Plane , was released on the Dantze label. The following year, Ink, was the first EP on the Stil vor Talent label . To the song Something Says from this EP was in 2012 on the roof Rooftop of Weekends turned on Alexanderplatz in Berlin a video made known worldwide the Blomqvist. Also in 2012 he sang to Oliver Koletzki's song The Devil In Me . In the following six years he performed over 500 concerts worldwide.

In 2016, Jan Blomqvist's first album Remote Control followed , with which he then performed numerous concerts, including appearances at world-famous festivals such as Burning Man , Coachella , Rock am Ring or Tomorrowland, as well as regular gigs at the legendary Woomoon parties on Ibiza .

Between May and September 2018, the second album Disconnected was released in three parts . The following Disconnected Album Tour was almost always sold out across Europe, which earned him a regular club night in Ibiza's renowned Heart Club.

When Jan Blomqvist performs with his band, he plays together with Christian Dammann on drums and Felix Lehmann on keyboards. He writes the lyrics for his songs together with Ryan Mathiesen.

Blomqvist is the father of one son and lives with him in his adopted home Berlin .
