Oliver Koletzki (born October 5, 1974 in Braunschweig ) is a German producer and DJ in the field of electronic dance music and house . Koletzki became internationally known primarily through the track Der Mückenschwarm .

Life

Koletzki's musical development began with a C64 and his own hip-hop beats. At the age of 18 he started to play in his native Braunschweig and became a DJ of the local scene. In 2000 he decided to move to Berlin to make music professionally. After completing a bank apprenticeship, he made up his Abitur at the Berlin College, focusing on music. From hip-hop he turned more to house and techno during this time. In 2004 he began studying musicology, but dropped out after a year.

In 2005 Koletzki had his breakthrough with the piece Der Mückenschwarm , which was released on the Cocoon Recordings label. Many DJs (including Sven Väth ) played the track and listed it in their charts. He was voted Track of the Year 2005 in reader surveys in Groove Magazine and Raveline Magazine , while readers of Groove Magazine also named Koletzki Best Newcomer 2005 . The mosquito swarm appeared with remixes by artists such as Pig & Dan and Dominik Eulberg . This success was followed by worldwide bookings and other releases, including Martin Eyerer's Kling Klong Imprint.

In September 2005 Koletzki founded his own label Stil vor Talent , which was originally intended as a platform for his own productions, but with which he also promoted young talents such as Sascha Braemer, HOSH and David August. Koletzki released his first album Get Wasted there in 2007. Altogether he has released more than 70 publications, including the albums Großstadtmärchen (2009), Lovestoned (2010) and Großstadtmärchen 2 (2012). Since 2009 he has also performed with his five-piece band The Koletzkis . In 2012 he founded the secondary label Light My Fire, a dance imprint with a focus on EP release. On May 16, 2014, Koletzki's fifth long player, I am OK , went on sale via Universal Music .
