John Acquaviva

John Acquaviva (* 1963 in Orsara di Puglia ) is a Canadian techno - / House - DJ and music producer who helped shape the style prevail and some small revolutions triggered (especially in the field of technical aids) within this genre.

biography

John Acquaviva was born in southern Italy . In 1967 his parents emigrated to Canada. Since then he has lived in London , Ontario. In 1980 he started playing records, first at school parties, then at house parties. In 1989 he met Richie Hawtin . Both were united by their enthusiasm for electronic music from Detroit . Together they founded the Plus 8 music label . Artists like Speedy J , Kenny Larkin , Cybersonik (John Acquaviva, Richie Hawtin and Daniel Bell ), FUSE and Plastikman (both Richie Hawtin) released their music on the label.

From the mid-90s, John Acquaviva became increasingly popular as a DJ and became internationally successful. Richie Hawtin had had success before, so they decided to put the Plus 8 label on hold as they had achieved their goals.
