Chapter 3 ( English for Chapter 3 ) is the third studio album by the girl group Queensberry , which was put together in 2008 as part of the talent show Popstars .

background

The album Chapter 3 appeared two and a half years after the last album release of Queensberry. During that time, after separating from Warner Music Germany, the band managed to switch to the record company Orange Red Music , which belongs to the RTL subsidiary RTL Disney Fernsehen GmbH & Co. KG ( Super RTL ) and is linked to the major label Universal Music . In addition, there were new members in the band in 2010. Ronja Hilbig and Selina Herrero joined the band for the retired band members Victoria Ulbrich and Antonella Trapani . The latter left the band two months before the release of Chapter 3 to continue her school career.

Production and style

Musically, the album stands out from the previous albums, as it is not to be assigned to pop music but to dance music . To work on the album, Queensberry teamed up with the producer team Chazz Gaither and Ivo Moring to produce the majority of the album with them. In addition, national and international songwriters could be won for the album. Michèle Vice-Maslin, songwriter for Selena Gomez , contributed the track Cake and Kisses and the first single Timeless was written by James Nicholas Bailey, Christopher Wallace and Ryan John Ogren, who previously wrote and produced for the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus . In addition, Alexander Geringas could be won for the title Superboy , who had previously worked for No Angels , Sarah Connor and Kelly Clarkson and also wrote songs for the band's first two albums. The band members also had the opportunity to contribute their own songs to the album for the first time. With the production team Chazz Gaither and Ivo Moring, the three band members wrote the title I Understand It Now , which they wrote for their mothers. The song California Kissin was written by Leonore Bartsch . The song is about their time together with Paul Loduca, band member of the Canadian boy band Neverest, whom Bartsch met in Los Angeles.

The album contains a total of three ballads, nine up-tempo songs and one mid-tempo track. I Want You Back is a cover version of the title of the same name by * NSYNC .

Single release

As a forerunner to the album, the single Timeless was released on June 1, 2012 . The music video for Timeless was created on April 27, 2012 in Phantasialand in Brühl and was shown for the first time in the Bravo TV web show on May 21, 2012. The album followed on June 22, 2012. Both the single and the album, with positions 90 and 91 in the German charts, did not match the success of previous releases. Nevertheless, the band shot the video for a second single Girl like Me on July 4, 2012 in the desert of the Lusatian mining landscape . The release took place on August 31, 2012. At the same time as the release, Leonore Bartsch left the band. After she was officially absent due to illness, her departure became public in October 2012.
