Barbotan-les-Thermes gate and church

Cazaubon is a French commune in the department of Gers in the region Occitania and in Arrondissement Condom . Cazaubon belongs to the canton of Grand-Bas-Armagnac and was until the main town ( chef-lieu ) of the canton of Cazaubon . The community has 1629 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017).

geography

Cazaubon is located about 62 kilometers northwest of Auch on the Douze River , in the historic province of Armagnac . Mont-de-Marsan is about 34.5 kilometers west-southwest of Cazaubon. The village and spa Barbotan-les-Thermes on the Lac de l'Uby belongs to the municipality .

history

A water sanctuary of the Celts is proven. In the baths of Barbotan-les-Thermes a total of 21 people died in a fire on July 15, 1991.
