Pergain-Taillac ( Gascon Lo Perganh e Talhac ) is a French municipality with 302 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Gers in the region Okzitanien ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Condom and the municipality association Lomagne Gersoise . Its inhabitants call themselves Perganais / Perganaises .

geography

Pergain-Taillac is the northernmost municipality in the Gers department. It is located on a hill about 46 kilometers north of the city Auch in the north of the Gers department. The community consists of the village of Pergain, several hamlets and individual farms. In terms of traffic, the municipality is on the D41 away from major long-distance traffic routes.

history

Location and development

The place is in Lomagne , which was a vice-county in the Middle Ages. The community belonged to the District Lectoure from 1793 to 1801. In addition, Pergain and Taillac were within the canton of Saint-Mézard from 1793 to 1801 and were part of the canton of Lectoure from 1801 to 2015 . The parish was assigned to the Arrondissement of Lectoure from 1801 to 1926. This was dissolved in 1926 and the municipality part of the Condom arrondissement. In 1823 the communities of Pergain (1821: 746 inhabitants) and Taillac (1821: 158 inhabitants) merged to form the new municipality of Pergain-Taillac.
