Solomiac ( Gascon is identical) is a French municipality with 481 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Gers in the region Occitania (before 2016 Midi-Pyrenees ). It belongs to the Condom arrondissement and the Gimone-Arrats canton ( Mauzevin until 2015 ). The inhabitants are called Solomiacais .

location

Solomiac is about forty kilometers west-northwest of Toulouse . Neighboring communities are Avensac in the north, Maubec in the east, Sarrant in the south-east, Labrihe in the south, Monfort in the west and south-west, Homps in the west and Estramiac in the north-west.

history

Eustache de Beaumarchais founded the bastide here in 1322 .
