Berrac is a French commune with 103 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gers department in the Occitanie region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). The municipality is part of the Condom arrondissement and the Lectoure-Lomagne canton (until 2015: Lectoure canton ).

The inhabitants are called Berracois and Berracoises .

Berrac is located about 20 kilometers northwest of Condom in the Région naturelle Condomois on the northern edge of the department.

Berrac is surrounded by the five neighboring communities:

Berrac lies in the catchment area of the Garonne River .

Tributaries of the Gers cross the territory of the municipality:

  • the Auchie with its tributaries,
    • the Ruisseau de Baudin, which rises in Berrac, and
    • the Ruisseau de Lasbouscarrasses, which rises in Berrac, and
  • the Ruisseau de Nauton, which also rises in Berrac.

Population development

After records began, the number of inhabitants rose to a high of around 380 by the middle of the 19th century. In the following period, the size of the community fell to its lowest level of around 85 inhabitants before the first decade of the 21st century, with intermittent recovery phases it stabilized at a level of around 100 inhabitants.
