Bascous ( Gascon : Basco ) is a French municipality with 170 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Gers in the region Okzitanien ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Condom and the community association Communauté de communes du Grand-Armagnac .

geography

Bascous is located around 28 kilometers northwest of the small town. Also in the west of the Gers department and belongs to the Armagnac brandy area .

The municipality includes the Bascous settlements, some hamlets and numerous individual farms.

history

Historically, the municipality belongs to the Comté de (Vic-) Fezensac region within Gascony. Bascous belonged to District Condom from 1793 to 1801 and was part of Canton Eauze from 1793 to 2015 .
