Beaucaire ( Gascon Beucaire ) is a French municipality with 256 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Gers in the region Okzitanien ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Condom and the municipality of Ténarèze . Its inhabitants call themselves Beaucairiens / Beaucairiennes .

geography

Beaucaire is located on the left bank of the Baïse around 27 kilometers northwest of the city Auch in the north of the Gers department. The community consists of the village of Beaucaire, several hamlets and numerous individual farms. In terms of traffic, the municipality is located on the D939 away from major supra-regional traffic routes.

history

In the Middle Ages, the place was within the County of Vic-Fezensac, which was part of the County of Armagnac. The parishes belonged to the District Condom from 1793 to 1801. In addition, Beaucaire and Pardailhan were from 1793 to 2015 within the canton of Valence-sur-Baïse . The parish has been assigned to the Condom arrondissement since 1801. In 1839 the previously independent community of Pardailhan (1831: 209 inhabitants) was incorporated.
