Séailles ( Gascon : Sealhas ) is a French municipality with 45 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Gers in the region Okzitanien ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Condom and the community association Communauté de communes du Grand-Armagnac .

geography

Séailles is located around 40 kilometers west-north-west of the small town. Also in the north-west of the Gers department, it is part of the Côtes de Saint-Mont wine-growing region and the Armagnac brandy region .

The community is a scattered community with numerous homesteads.

history

After the phylloxera crisis that destroyed the vineyards, many people moved away in the 19th century. Historically, Séailles belongs to the Comté de (Vic-) Fezensac region within Gascony. The place belonged from 1793 to 1801 to the District Condom. Also from 1793 to 1801 to the canton of Manciet and 1801 to 2015 to the canton of Eauze .
