Brugnens ( Gaskognisch Brunhens ) is a French commune with 256 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gers department in the Occitania region ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Condom and the municipality association Lomagne Gersoise . Its inhabitants are called Brugnensois / Brugnensoises .

geography

Brugnens is located around 24 kilometers northeast of the city Auch in the northeast of the Gers department. The community consists of the village of Brugnens, a few hamlets and individual farms. In terms of traffic, the community is located on the D654.

history

Indirect mention in the 13th century as a Bertrand de Brugnens commander of the city of Auch. The place is in Lomagne , which was a vice-county in the Middle Ages. The place belonged from 1793 to 1801 to the District Lectoure. In addition, Brugnens was within the canton of Fleurance from 1793 to 2015 . The parish was assigned to the Arrondissement of Lectoure from 1801 to 1926. This was dissolved in 1926 and the municipality part of the Condom arrondissement.
