Mithi Vav

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The stepwells Mithi Vav in Palanpur ( District Banaskantha ) is regarded as the only remaining monument of Paramara dynasty in Gujarat , India . The five-tier structure was probably built in the 13th century (a date refers to the year 1263 CE), but the walls are probably made of 8th-century sculptures of the gods Ganesha and Shiva , as well as apsaras , dance figures, praying couples, floral and embedded geometric patterns.
