Urdens ( Gaskognisch same name) is a French commune with 292 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gers department in the Occitania region ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Condom and the municipality association Lomagne Gersoise . Its inhabitants call themselves Urdenois / Urdenoises .

geography

Urdens is located around 25 kilometers north-northeast of the city Auch in the northeast of the Gers department. The community consists of the village of Urdens, the hamlets of Ensans de Haut and Hillo and individual farms. In terms of traffic, it is a few kilometers east of the N21 .

history

Urdens is in Lomagne , which was a vice-county in the Middle Ages. The place belonged from 1793 to 1801 to the District Lectoure. In addition, Urdens was within the canton of Fleurance from 1793 to 2015 . The parish was assigned to the Arrondissement of Lectoure from 1801 to 1926. This was dissolved in 1926 and the municipality part of the Condom arrondissement. In 1823 part of the previous community of Lamothe-Endo came to Urdens.
