Caussen's town hall

Caussens ( Gaskognisch same name) is a French commune with 619 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gers department in the Occitania region ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Condom and the municipality of Ténarèze . Its inhabitants call themselves Caussenssois / Caussenssoises .

geography

Caussens is located on a hill about 33 kilometers southwest of the city of Agen in the north of the Gers department. The community consists of the village of Caussens, several hamlets and numerous individual farms. In terms of traffic, the municipality is located on the D7 a few kilometers east of the RD930 and a few kilometers west of the N21 .

history

In the Middle Ages, the place was within the county of Condomois (also called Ténarèze), which was part of the province of Gascogne. The community belonged to the District Condom from 1793 to 1801. In addition, Caussens was part of the canton of Condom from 1793 to 2015 . The parish has been assigned to the Condom arrondissement since 1801.
