The Carpenter nunatak is an isolated nunatak in the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . In the southern part of the Prince Charles Mountains, it looms between Mount Mather and the Mount Menzies massif .
A dog sled team mapped him in 1961 as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions from the summit of Mount Menzies. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named him after Geoffrey Denys Probyn Smith (1920-1991), carpenter ( English carpenter ) on the Mawson station in 1961.
