The Mount Mather is a 2,860 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . It rises 5.5 km west of Mount Menzies in the Prince Charles Mountains .
The mountain was discovered in 1956 by flight officer John Seaton of the Royal Australian Air Force during a flight by the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions (ANARE). A seismological team mapped the mountain during ANARE, which ran from 1957 to 1958. The namesake is the Australian seismologist Keith Benson Mather (1922-2003), leader of this team.
