Mont-de-Marsan ( Occitan Lo Mont de Marsan , also: Lo Moun ) is a French city with 29,554 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of land in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine and the largest city of the department. It is the seat of the prefecture of the department. The prefecture also administers the Mont-de-Marsan arrondissement .
Mont-de-Marsan is located on the Midou and Douze rivers , which merge in the city center to form the Midouze . This is a tributary of the Adour . It is therefore also called the city of the three rivers .
