Saugnacq-et-Muret is located about 80 kilometers north-northeast of Dax am Eyre in the vast Landes de Gascogne , the largest forest area in Western Europe, about 70 kilometers south of Bordeaux . Saugnacq-et-Muret is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Belin-Béliet in the north, Moustey in the east, Pissos in the south and southeast, Liposthey in the south, Ychoux in the west and Lugos in the north-west.
The A63 autoroute and the Via Turonensis , a variant of the Camino de Santiago, run through the municipality .
