Parentis-en-Born is a French municipality with 6236 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of land in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the arrondissement of Mont-de-Marsan and the community association Grands Lacs, founded in 2002 . Parentis-en-Born is the main town ( chef-lieu ) of the canton of Grands Lacs .

Parentis-en-Born is located in the Aquitaine Basin in the Pays de Born landscape in the large Landes de Gascogne forest and on the edge of the Lac de Parentis . Parentis-en-Born is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Biscarrosse in the north and north-west, Ychoux in the east, Pontenx-le-Forges and Lüe in the south and Gastes in the west and south-west.
