Gabarret ( Occitan : Gavarret ) is a French municipality with 1295 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of land in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . Administratively it belongs to the arrondissement of Mont-de-Marsan and is part of the canton Haute Lande Armagnac (until 2015: canton Gabarret ). The inhabitants are called gabardans .
geography
Gabarret is located about 42 kilometers east-northeast of Mont-de-Marsan on the Estampon in the Armagnac region . Gabarret is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Herré in the north and northwest, Escalans in the east and northeast, Parleboscq in the southeast, Cazaubon in the south and southwest and Créon-d'Armagnac in the west. In the municipality, the route nationale 524 (part of the Itinéraire à Grand Gabarit ) and the former route nationale 656 (today's D656) cross.
