Attractions

Parish Church of Notre-Dame de l'Assomption

The church was built between 1880 and 1889 at a time when the parish already owned a church dating from the 12th and 13th centuries. But this was insufficiently large to accommodate all of the parishioners and was also deteriorating. The cost of restoration and structural expansion were considered too high. The new church has the layout of a Latin cross with two side chapels that form a transept . The nave with three naves is extended by a round choir . The entrance is at the foot of the bell tower .

Vignau Castle

Vignau Castle

The castle dates back to the 12th century. It used to belong to the Monlezun family and subsequently knew several owners. The family of the Count von Dampierre bought it in 1812 but were unable to keep it. It was sold to M. Jardon, son of a lawyer from Mont-de-Marsan. Today it is owned by an American family and is not open to the public.
