The Route nationale 134 , or N 134 or RN 134 for short , is a French national road .
history
The route was determined in 1824 between Roquefort and the Col du Somport ( Spanish border) and goes back to the route impériale 154. The total length was 174.5 kilometers.
In 1973, the part from the intersection with national road 124 north of Aire-sur-l'Adour to Roquefort was graduated and a new route was created from different road sections between Mont-de-Marsan and a road intersection with national road 10 south of Belin-Béliet N 134 formed:
- D 20 N 10 south of Belin-Béliet - north of Sabers
- N 626 north of Sabers - southeast of Sabers
- N 649 southeast of Sabers - Mont-de-Marsan
- interrupted by N 124
- N 134 Aire-sur-l'Adour - Col du Somport
In 1986 the course of the road was moved to the Pau bypass and the old route through Pau was signposted as National Road 1134 .
In 2006, the road north of Pau was stepped and now runs only between the bypass of Pau in Jurançon and the Spanish border at Somport . Until Oloron-Sainte-Marie it was to be replaced by the 650 motorway , but the project was postponed until further notice. Likewise, the national road 1134 within Pau was graduated. The road tunnel at Somport, through which the current national road 1134 runs, has existed since 2003.
N1134
The N1143 is a branch of the N134, which first appeared in 1986 as a connection between the N134 and junction 10 of the A64 north of Pau. This has been graduated since 2006 and is now part of the D817, which is also the Rocade de Pau. Since the opening of the road tunnel at Somport, there has been another N1134. this is the French part of the tunnel leading to Spain.
