The Route nationale 159 , or N 159 or RN 159 for short , was a French national road .

It was established between La Membrolle and Laval in 1824 and goes back to route 179 impériale. Their length was 134 kilometers. In 1973 the national road was completely graduated. Since 1978, the number is used for the 1976 National Road 59 A in operation taken toll Maurice-Lemaire tunnel in the Vosges, where an alternative for the pass road N 59 served on the Col de Sainte-Marie. It has been connecting the two-part N 59 since 2006, as the pass road was  stepped to Départementstrasse 459.
