The Route nationale 165 , or N 165 or RN 165 for short , is a French national road .

It was established in 1824 between Nantes and Audierne and goes back to the route impériale 185. Their total length was 268.5 kilometers. In 1973 the section between Quimper and Audierne was staggered and in 1978 the road took over the (new) leadership of national road 170 to Brest:

  • N 165 Nantes - Quimper
  • N 170 Quimper - Daoulas
  • D 33 (briefly as N 170) Daoulas - Le Relecq-Kerhuon
  • D 233 (briefly as N 170) Le Relecq-Kerhuon - Brest

In addition, from 1978 onwards, the old route of the N 165 via the places between exits 46 and 52 of the expressway on which the N 165 was laid was designated as national road 265 . In 1979 the graduation took place. Today, the N 165 runs entirely as a dual carriageway, starting on the 82 motorway northwest of Brest and the bypass road east of Brest, where it continues in the N 265, which leads to national road 12 . It is to be expanded to the 82 motorway.
