Daoulas ( Breton Daoulaz ) is a French commune in north-west Brittany in the Finistère department with 1786 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Brest and the canton of Pont-de-Buis-lès-Quimerch .
geography
The municipality of Daoulas is located 16 kilometers southeast of Brest and about 480 kilometers west of Paris . It is located at the confluence of the rivers Mignonne and Lézuzan , which flow into the Atlantic Ocean as a funnel mouth under the name Daoulas in the Bay of Brest .
history
The old village center was built around the abbey founded in the 6th century and rebuilt in the 12th century by the Viscount of Léon . The castle was destroyed by the English in the 15th century.

traffic
The municipality can be reached via one exit from the expressway E 60 (Brest– Nantes ) and another on the E 50 (Brest – Rennes ) near Landerneau .
At Landerneau there is a regional train station on the Brest – Rennes and Brest – Nantes lines. Brest train station is the terminus of the TGV Atlantique to Paris.
The Aéroport de Brest Bretagne regional airport is located near Brest .
