Plourin (bret. Plourin-Gwitalmeze ) is a French municipality with 1241 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Finistère in the region of Brittany ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Brest and the canton of Saint-Renan .

history
The municipality originally belonged to the area of Nieder-Leon (French Bas-Léon, Bret. Goueled-Leon) in northwest Brittany, later to the rule of Brest and Saint-Renan.
