The District of Saint-Renan (Breton Canton Lokournan ) is a French canton in the Arrondissement Brest , in the Finistere region and in the region of Brittany ; its main town is Saint-Renan .
history
The canton was established on February 15, 1790. From 1801 to 2015, twelve parishes belonged to the canton of Saint-Renan. With the reorganization of the cantons in France, the number of municipalities rose to 18. In addition to the previous municipalities of the old canton of Saint-Renan, 5 of the 10 municipalities of the previous canton of Ploudalmézeau and the only municipality of the previous canton of Ouessant were added.

The old canton of Saint-Renan consisted of twelve municipalities with an area of 211.03 km². These were: Le Conquet , Guipronvel , Île-Molène , Lampaul-Plouarzel , Lanrivoaré , Locmaria-Plouzané , Milizac , Plouarzel , Plougonvelin , Ploumoguer , Saint-Renan (main town) and Trébabu .
