The Canton Moëlan-sur-Mer (Breton Canton Molan ) is a French canton in the Arrondissement Quimper , in the Finistere region and in the region of Brittany ; its main town is Moëlan-sur-Mer .

history

The canton was created in 2015 with the reorganization of the cantons in France. The communes used to belong to the cantons of Pont-Aven (4 communes), Bannalec (2 communes), Concarneau (1 commune) and Scaër (1 commune).

The canton is located in the southeast of the Finistère department.

In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the five voting pairs achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, Claude Jaffré / Muriel Le Gac (both PS) won against Brigitte Bandzwolek Lhonore / Didier Le Duc (both Union de la droite) with a share of the vote of 56.34% (turnout: 50.41 %).
