The canton of Carhaix-Plouguer (Breton canton Karaez-Plougêr ) is a French constituency in the arrondissement of Châteaulin , in the department of Finistère and in the region of Brittany ; its main town is Carhaix-Plouguer .
history
The canton was created on February 15, 1790. From 1801 to 2015, eight municipalities belonged to the canton of Carhaix-Plouguer. With the reorganization of the cantons in France, the number of municipalities rose to 24. In addition to the previous municipalities of the old canton Carhaix-Plouguer, there were all 8 municipalities of the previous canton of Huelgoat , 4 of the 10 municipalities of the previous canton of Pleyben , 3 of the 10 municipalities of the previous canton Canton of Châteauneuf-du-Faou and 1 of the 4 municipalities of the previous canton of Le Faou .
