The Canton Brest-2 (Breton the same name) is a Canton in district Brest , in the Finistère and in the region Bretagne ; its capital is Brest .
In 2017 the canton had 36,557 inhabitants.
history
The canton was created with the reorganization of the cantons in France in 2015. It consists of parts of the city of Brest in the south of the city, east of the Penfeld river to the sea.

The canton is located in the northwest of the Finistère department.
politics
In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the six voting pairs achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, the Marie Gueye / Réza Salami (both PS) team won against Bernadette Malgorn / Bruno Sifantus (both Union de la droite) with a share of the vote of 51.75% (turnout: 45.56%).
