Saint-Renan ( Lokournan in Breton ) is a French commune with 8110 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in northwest Brittany in the Finistère department .
The municipality belongs to the association “The most beautiful detours in France”, which includes 93 towns across the country.
geography
The municipality is located near the Atlantic coast on the Côte des Abers and the Bay of Brest ( Rade de Brest ). The city area is crossed in a chain of lakes by the river Aber Ildut . Brest is 16 kilometers (km) southeast and Paris about 500 km east (as the crow flies ).
