Landerneau ( Breton Landerne ) is a French commune in the Bretagne region in the Finistère department with 15,781 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017). Brest is 18 kilometers southwest, Rennes about 180 kilometers east-southeast and Paris about 480 kilometers east. The city is located at the mouth of the Elorn , which is navigable as far as Landerneau .
In February 2016, Landerneau was one of 13 municipalities that belonged to level 3 of the Charter Ya d'ar brezhoneg for the promotion of the Breton language.

The next exits on the expressways E 50 (Rennes – Brest) and E 60 ( Nantes – Brest ) are located a few kilometers north and south of the town. Landerneau has a regional train station on the Brest – Rennes – Paris and Brest – Quimper – Nantes lines .
The nearest regional airport is located near Brest .

The bridge over the Élorn, the Pont de Rohan , is one of the few bridges in Europe still in existence today. This bridge was first mentioned in 1336, and in 1510 it was rebuilt from bricks.

Landerneau is connected through town twinning with:

- Caernarfon , Wales, since 1992
2011, the city got together with her German sister city Hünfeld the European Prize of Europe for their outstanding efforts to European integration .
