Landunvez is a French commune with 1,475 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Finistère in the region of Brittany ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Brest and the canton of Plabennec .
history
The Du Castel family (Du Chatel, today Duchâtel) ruled the place for centuries from the Trémazan castle. The municipality historically belongs to the area Nieder-Leon (French Bas-Léon, Bret. Goueled-Leon) in the north-west of Brittany.
