history
The name Saint-Pabu is derived from the Breton saint Tugdual . From the 11th to the 13th centuries, Saint-Pabu was also the name of Tréguier in the Côtes-d'Armor department .
In 1624, the Saint-Pabu chapel was expanded into a church after the residents complained about the arduous church going to Ploudalmézeau. In 1889, near the Mesnaot mansion, a box containing 57 kilograms of Roman coins, dating from the period between 276 and 337, was found. In addition, three silver vases and gold bracelets (before that) were recovered.
On January 14, 2006, the municipality joined the Ya d'ar brezhoneg charter for the promotion of the Breton language.
