The Route nationale 157 , or N 157 or RN 157 for short , is a French national road .

It was established between Blois and Laval in 1824. Their total length was 175 kilometers. In 1949 the course of the national road 12 was changed . As a result, the N 157 was extended beyond Laval to Rennes . Their total length increased to 245 kilometers. In 1973 the section between Blois and Épuisay was graduated and the N 157 was instead led to Orléans . It then consisted of these parts:

N 155 Orléans - Ormes
N 826 Ormes - Épuisay
N 157 Épuisay - Rennes

In 2006 there was a graduation between Orléans and La Gravelle . Between La Gravelle and Rennes, it has been converted into an expressway and serves as an extension of the 81 motorway , into which it is to be rededicated after future expansion (commissioning planned by 2020).
