The Route nationale 94 , shortly N 94 , is a French national road .

The road was laid in two parts in 1824 between Pont-Saint-Esprit and the Italian border at the Col de Montgenèvre , where Strada Statale 24 has continued to Susa since 1928 . It goes back to the route impériale 113 . Their total length was 244 kilometers. At the beginning of the 20th century it was extended over the route of the N93, which interrupted it, to the confluence of the N75, as the N93 was divided into two parts. The total length increased by 8 kilometers. In 1947 it was lengthened somewhat after the Second World War because the border was shifted, as the new border was laid at the Italian town of Cavaliere a little east of the pass. With the construction of the Lac de Serre-Ponçon reservoir, the N 94 was relocated to part of the route of the N 94 C and a new road. The length was reduced by 3 kilometers. In 1973 it was graduated between Pont-Saint-Esprit and Gap. In 2006, the section from Pont-Saint-Esprit to national road 7 Lamotte-du-Rhône was upgraded as part of national road 86 .
