The Route nationale 123 , or N 123 or RN 123 for short , is a French national road .

Current course of the road

The current national road 22 represents the southern part of the ring road of Chartres and connects the national road 154 in the west with the national road 1154 east of the city. The road runs through the southern urban areas.

Historic course of the road

The historic national road 22 was established in 1824 between Grisolles and Moissac and goes back to the route impériale 143. Their length was 37 kilometers. In 1949 the route of the national road was taken over by the national road 113 .

In 1978 the national road 10 D , which is in operation as a southern bypass of Chartres , was rededicated as the national road 123. In 2006 a section of this bypass was stepped east of Chartres.
