The Route nationale 353 , or N 353 or RN 353 for short , is a French national road that was first established in 1933 between the towns of Pont-à-Marcq and Saint-Amand-les-Eaux . Their length was 27 kilometers. In 1968 there was an extension west to Seclin , as the N 17 was interrupted by the construction of Lille Airport . This increased the length of the road to 34.5 kilometers. In 1973 the road was relocated via Hasnon to the N 45 near Raismes . In 1976 the section from Seclin to the N 45 was integrated into the new course of the N 49 and the rest of the route was graded. In 1978 the number was used for a road within the city of Dunkerque to the port. This was then integrated into the N 225 .
In 2000 the number was used again for the southernmost part of the Strasbourg bypass. This section runs from the German border on the Pierre-Pflimlin Bridge over the Rhine to the N 83 . From there it is to be connected to the A 35 with the D 400 and thus enable a direct connection from Germany to Strasbourg airport .
