The N483 was a French national road from 1933 to 1973, running between the N477 west of Buxy and N79 east of Charolles. Their length was 42 kilometers. In 1984 a new N483 was built on a section of the N83. This led from the N6 at La Croix-Rousse over the Rhône and then followed the bank to the N383 (today D383). It has been a municipal road since 2006.
