The Route nationale 439 , or N 439 or RN 439 for short , was a French national road that opened in 1933 between Sens and the N51 near La Motte-Tilly. Their length was 36 kilometers. In 1973 it was downgraded to Départementstrasse. In 1978 the number was used again for an emerging expressway. The first section comprised the southern bypass of Hesdin between the N39 at Le Parcq and the D136. In 2001 the road between the N317 at Campigneulles-les-Petites and Le Parcq was completed. The number was then renumbered to N39 between Le Parcq and the N1, so that a short section of the N439 remained, which was downgraded to the D939 in 2006.
