The Route nationale 336 , or N 336 or RN 336 for short , was a French national road that was laid down in two parts between Gamaches and Saint-Quentin in 1933. It was interrupted by the N35 west of Amiens. The section in the Aisne department is Départementstraße 1, established in 1813. In 1949, the extended N44 took over the section between Estrées-en-Chaussée and Saint-Quentin. In 1973 this section, as well as the one between Amiens and Estrées-en-Chaussée, was integrated into the N29, which was relocated to its new end point in La Capelle. The rest of the section was outclassed in 1973. From 1978 to 2006 the number was used again for a short connecting road east of Dunkerque between the N1 (ex N40) and N335 (1978 new connection between N1 and A16). A portion of this new N336 was once part of the N16 B . Today the connecting road bears the number D636.
