Life and politics

Michał Boni studied Polish Studies at the University of Warsaw and graduated in 1977 with a degree in cultural studies . He then worked in this department until 1990. In 1980 he joined Solidarność , in 1982 he worked for the trade union newspaper Wola and was its editor-in-chief from March 1983 to September 1989. 1986 PhD Boni.

In 1990 he was Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, and its Minister the following year. In the 1991 elections , Michał Boni was elected to the First Sejm of the Third Polish Republic from the list of the Liberalno-Demokratyczny ( Liberal-Democratic Congress ) . From 1992 to 1993 he was Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs in Hanna Suchocka's government . In 1994 he joined the Unia Wolności and was a member until 2005. From 1994 to 1996 he was a councilor in the center of Warsaw . At the same time, he was an advisor to the Enterprise Investors fund from 1994 to 2007/2008 . From 1996 to 1997 he was one of the experts for the preparation of the national development plan 2007-2013. From 1998 to 2001 Michał Boni acted as senior advisor to the Minister for Labor and Social Policy Longin Komołowski . In 2008 he became State Secretary in Prime Minister Donald Tusk's office and head of strategy consulting. On January 15, 2009 he was admitted to the Council of Ministers. On November 18, 2011, Michał Boni was appointed Minister of Public Administration and Digitization.

Collaboration in the Polish secret service

In 1992 he was listed on the so-called Macierewicz list as an employee of the Służba Bezpieczeństwa , the secret service of the People's Republic. He said he had been pressured by intelligence officials. According to Boni, he was blackmailed by threatening that his adultery would be made public and that his three-year-old child would be sent to a secret service children's home. He apologized for not informing his colleagues.
