Krzysztof Kwiatkowski

Krzysztof Kwiatkowski (born May 14, 1971 in Zgierz ) is a Polish politician of the Platforma Obywatelska ( Civic Platform ) and was Minister of Justice in the Tusk I cabinet from October 2009 to November 2011 .

Life

Kwiatkowski began studying law and administration at the University of Łódź . He had to interrupt his studies for two years because he was suffering from cancer . After operations and chemotherapy , he graduated from Warsaw University in 2001 . From 1994 to 1998 he was on the city council of Zgierz and from 1998 to 2002 in the council of the district of Zgierski Powiat . At the same time he worked in the secretariat of Prime Minister Jerzy Buzek from 1997 to 2001 and was his personal secretary. In 2002 he worked at the private university Akademia Polonijna in Częstochowa before he became deputy mayor of Zgierz in the same year, where he worked until 2006. He interrupted his duties in Zgierz in 2004 for Buzek's campaign for the 2004 European elections . From 2006 to 2007 Krzysztof Kwiatkowski worked as deputy chairman in the Sejmik of the Łódź Voivodeship . In the early parliamentary elections in 2007 , Kwiatkowski managed to get into the Polish Senate with 164,151 votes in the constituency of Łódź . In February 2009 he was appointed Deputy Minister of Justice. On October 13, 2009, Krzysztof Kwiatkowski was appointed Minister of Justice by Donald Tusk after his predecessor Andrzej Czuma was fired because of a gambling affair. In the 2011 parliamentary elections , he was elected to the Sejm and left the government.

Krzysztof Kwiatkowski is married and has two children.
