Aleksander Grad

Aleksander Grad (born May 1, 1962 in Łosiniec ) is a Polish politician. From 2007 to 2011 he was Minister of State Property of Poland.

Life

Aleksander Grad studied from 1981 to 1987 at the Cracow Mining and Metallurgy Academy ( Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza ) from which he graduated with a master's degree in engineering. He then worked as a private entrepreneur before being elected to the Pleśna Municipality Council in 1990 . Here he was deputy mayor until 1994 and was primarily responsible for the technical infrastructure. From 1997 to 1999 he was voivode of the Tarnów Voivodeship . In February 1999 he became an advisor to the World Bank before becoming Undersecretary of State in the Polish Ministry of Health in June 1999. In 2001 he joined the Civic Platform ( Platforma Obywatelska - PO) and in October 2001 became a member of the Sejm for them . From 2004 to 2006 he was chairman of the Platforma Obywatelska in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship . Even after the parliamentary elections in 2005 , he moved back to the Polish parliament for the PO. After the early parliamentary elections in 2007 he became Minister of State ( Minister Skarbu Państwa ) on November 16, 2007 . In the parliamentary elections in 2011 he was able to gain a seat in the Sejm again with 23,671 votes in the constituency 15 Tarnów . On November 18, 2011, he was replaced as Minister by Mikołaj Budzanowski .

From 2012 to 2016 he held prominent positions at the energy companies Polska Grupa Energetyczna , Towarowa Giełda Energii ( electricity exchange in Warsaw), Tauron Polska Energia and Zespół Elektrowni Pątnów-Adamów-Konin .

Private

He is married and has four kids.
