Andrzej Kraszewski

Andrzej Kazimierz Kraszewski (* 1948 ) is a Polish scientist. From February 2010 to November 2011 he was the independent environment minister in the Tusk I cabinet .

In 1983 he received his doctorate with a thesis on methods for improving mathematical models for the water quality of rivers at the Warsaw University of Technology ( Politechnika Warszawska ). From March to September 1999 he was a scholarship holder of the German Federal Environmental Foundation at the Leibniz Institute for Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries in Berlin. Krzaszewski is a professor at the Warsaw University of Technology and Economics ( Wyższa Szkoła Techniczno-Ekonomiczna w Warszawie ) and associate professor at the Warsaw University of Technology. One of his main research areas is the impact of infrastructure projects on the environment. On February 2, 2010, he was appointed Environment Minister to succeed Maciej Nowicki . He saw one of his focal points in emissions trading . With the end of the term of office of the Tusk I cabinet on November 18, 2011, he resigned as minister.
