Władysław Marcin Kosiniak-Kamysz ( debate ? / I ; born August 10, 1981 in Krakow ) is a Polish doctor and politician . Since 2015 he has been chairman of the Polish People's Party (PSL). From 2011 to 2015 he was Minister for Labor and Social Affairs in the governments of Donald Tusk and Ewa Kopacz . Audio file / audio sample

Life

Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz is the son of the former Polish Minister of Health Andrzej Kosiniak-Kamysz. Until 2006 he completed a medical degree at the Collegium Medicum of the Jagiellonian University . There he became an assistant at the chair for internal medicine and agricultural medicine and received his doctorate in 2010.

In the 2010 regional elections , Kosiniak-Kamysz received 763 votes. Since Jacek Majchrowski was appointed mayor of Krakow, he was able to take his seat on the Krakow City Council.

On August 18, 2011, he became Minister of Labor and Social Affairs in the Tusk II cabinet . He also retained this office in the Kopacz cabinet , whose term of office ended on November 16, 2015.

In the parliamentary elections in autumn 2015 , the PSL and the Civic Platform lost their government majority and have been in the opposition ever since. Due to the poor election result and because he did not obtain a mandate himself, the then Janusz Piechociński resigned as party leader. Kosiniak-Kamysz became his successor on November 7, 2015.

Kosiniak-Kamysz is married for the second time.

He participated in the presidential election on June 28, 2020 and received 2.36% of the vote, placing him 5th out of 11 candidates.
